Psychological Therapy

The Australian Psychological Society (APS) National Schedule of Recommended Fees sets the rate for standard consultations of 46-60 minutes at $318.00. Consultation fees at this clinic are lower than the APS recommended rate.

The fee for a standard 50-55 minute consultation is $267.00. (Gap fee of $168.05 per session with MHCP medicare rebate).

A concession rate of $230.00 is available for self-funded tertiary students, pensioners and individuals on a low income. (Gap fee of $131.05 per session with MHCP medicare rebate). 

In addition, a limited number of sliding-scale places are also offered each year for clients experiencing financial hardship. Availability is typically reviewed at the beginning of each quarter (January, April, July and October), with additional opportunities becoming available as capacity allows throughout the year. Please contact us to enquire about current options.

Your GP may also be able to recommend other psychology services within the community, including government-funded or bulk-billing clinics, should you wish to explore other options.

Guided Meditation/Deep Relaxation Sessions

For current clients, individual mindfulness meditation practice sessions are offered commencing at $35 standard rate/$25 concession for a 20 minute practice. Additional options available for 30 minute practice session. Sessions are tailored to individual needs and circumstances.

REBATES

Several rebate options may be available.

If you have been referred by a health practitioner such as a GP or psychiatrist, you may be eligible for a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) under the Medicare Better Access to Mental Health scheme. With a valid MHTP, Medicare provides a rebate of $98.95 per session (from 1 July 2025) for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

To claim Medicare rebates, please ensure you obtain a referral letter from your health practitioner dated prior to your first session you wish to claim.

Depending on your circumstances, you may also be eligible for rebates through:

  • a GP Chronic Condition Management Plan (please discuss eligibility with your GP)

  • Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling Medicare items (up to three sessions for individuals who are currently pregnant or have been pregnant within the past 12 months)

  • Private Health Insurance (rebates vary by provider and level of cover; please contact your insurer directly to confirm your entitlements)

At this time, services are not offerred through external funding schemes such NDIS, Workcover or TAC.
